Digitalization and Automation of the Daily Report in Mining

Abstract
In the mining sector, manual processes still persist, making it difficult to collect accurate productivity and cost data. ObraLink Tracking enables the digitalization and automation of the daily on-site report, integrating location monitoring, automated reports, and analysis tools to improve decision-making.
In the mining sector, investment in new technologies to optimize processes and reduce costs is frequently discussed. However, when looking closely at certain areas of the industry—such as industrial assembly, which builds structures and installations for mining—there is still significant reliance on traditional methods, such as manually recording each worker’s hours on paper.
These records are later transferred to multiple Excel spreadsheets, which can lead to inconsistencies, lack of precision, and high processing costs.
At ObraLink, our goal is to digitalize and automate construction and industrial assembly processes in mining so that companies can make decisions based on reliable and timely information.
To better address the processes used in mining, we have developed ObraLink Tracking, a new product that offers:
1. Location monitoring
Each worker carries a device that automatically records the areas they are in throughout the day, allowing for precise tracking of hours worked in each zone.
2. Panic button
In case of an emergency, the worker can press the button to immediately alert the on-site facility and safety officers, ensuring a faster response and improved worker protection.
3. Integration with an automated daily report
The system, using recorded work hours per zone, allows users or supervisors to allocate these hours to planned activities. This data is then consolidated into a 'Daily Report' with total hours per task and worker, eliminating repetitive manual processes such as recording lunch breaks or safety briefings.
4. Comparisons and adjustments
By comparing the data detected by the devices with the hours entered in the final report, the accuracy of the information can be improved, deviations can be detected, and corrective actions can be taken in a timely manner.
Because the system organizes data in a uniform structure, it becomes easier to plan future projects, using real performance data to adjust costs more accurately.
Additionally, this standardized information allows for the generation of dashboards and key performance indicators, facilitating real-time decision-making.
Benefits of implementing ObraLink Tracking
In summary, incorporating this solution reduces dependency on manual formats and speeds up the preparation of reports, enabling deeper analysis of productivity and performance in each project.
The information integrates with other tools, promoting collaboration between engineering, operations, and management. Additionally, having real-time data allows for preventive adjustments in planning, avoiding delays and cost overruns.
With ObraLink Tracking, digitalizing and automating the daily report in mining and industrial assembly is not only possible but also profitable. Reducing paper dependency and centralizing data into a single system opens the door to greater efficiency, transparency, and safety in every project.
